My Top 10 favorite One Piece Characters

 

Throughout my time reading and watching One Piece, I've grown attached to the hardships, victories, and dreams of each character.

Despite having so many likable characters, I have compiled my top 10 favorite characters in One Piece.

#10: Brook

Brook is an amazing character for a multitude of reasons. 

Being a talking skeleton with an Afro is great, while also constantly telling skull jokes. But, the main reason I love Brook's character is his heartfelt character moments, especially in his backstory.

#9 Ussop

Ussop is a chronic liar and is scared of almost every dangerous situation. Though, he shows his true courage and bravery when he's pushed against the wall. Overall, he's an incredible, well fleshed out, and great character who is truly a brave warrior of the sea.

#8 Edward (Whitebeard) Newgate

Whitebeard is one of my favorite examples of “found family” in One Piece. Everyone in his crew is his family and regards them as his sons. His presence is almost omnipresent, and his impact on the One Piece world is very far-reaching.

#7 Portgas D Ace

Portgas D Ace the “Fire Fist” is another phenomenal character in the world of One Piece. His personality is very fun and serious at the same time, while also being an amazing big brother to the main character. His relationship with Whitebeard is also great, as Ace is a part of his crew and sees his like a son.

#6 Monkey D Luffy

The main character, Monkey D Luffy, is an astounding protagonist and captain of his crew. He's wild, loving, brave, and most importantly kind. He always stands up to injustice when he sees it and cares for everyone in his crew. Furthermore, he is truly worthy of being the next king of the pirates.

#5 Buggy the Clown

Despite looking goofy and one dimensional, Buggy is an amazing and well-thought-out character in the world of One Piece. His presence always brings comedy, and he also has serious moments as well. 

His relationship with the main character, Monkey D Luffy, is hilarious and comedic, while his relationship with Shanks is intricate and complex.

#4 Donquixote Doflamingo

Doflamingo is a complex and great character in the world of One Piece. His position as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea makes his presence foreboding and intense. His connections weave and link around like strings. His story is also tragic, while also not justifying his future behavior. Overall, he is an amazing character and great villain in the One Piece world.

#3 Sanji

Sanji is one of my favorite characters in the whole story. His backstory is heartfelt and tragic, his personality is funny but also cool, and his sense of justice is great. He has amazing character moments and always makes a scene in the story cooler. Overall, he's a deep and intricate character who will always be one of my favorites.

#2 Trafalgar Law

There are so many things I could say about Trafalgar Law, but ill keep it to only a few points. He has an amazing backstory that makes me cry every time I see it. His personality and character interactions are great, and he has an amazing character arc.

#1 Nico Robin

Robin is my favorite character out of the entire cast of One Piece characters. She has an amazing personality, a morbid sense of humor, tear-jerking moments, and a needed presence in the story. She is always in search of knowledge and wants to uncover the true history of the world. Overall, I wouldn't love One Piece as much as a do if Nico Robin wasn't a character in the story.
